Introducing Digital Avatars

Reinvent yourself as a digital character

Our team builds life-like 3D doppelgängers - actors, musicians, athletes, and beyond - as a digital avatar service. Extend your digital reach to a 3D native audience.

Build once. Use forever.

Our digital avatars seamlessly integrate into a variety of next-gen experiences and content, including social media, digital experiences, games, and live events.

Our Process

  • Capture and AI

We use the latest tools - from photogrammetry to Artificial Intelligence (AI) - to capture the physical essence of a person. This can include voice samples to build AI voice clones.

Avatars include raw data to future-proof the investment, and allow updates for new AI models or deployment types (such as deepfakes).

  • Creative Direction

From clothing, props, makeup to hair-styles, characters are finished to fit your creative needs. Since they are 3D models, we are able to refine, re-shape and update them at any time.

  • Deployment and Application

Our avatars can be used in a wide-range of applications such as game engines or VFX workflows, but are initially made for Unreal Engine deployment. We’ve built for TikTok, Instagram, live events, motion capture libraries and more.

Capture movement

To bring your avatar to life, we use motion capture to record character-specific movement data. Record a live performance, a piece of content, or expand into a larger motion library.

Motion Library

A motion library is a unique selection of 3D animation assets that capture a wide range of movements to be used with the avatar on-demand. We put great care into creating bespoke, highly-detailed animations that capture how someone moves, speaks, performs, and anything else.

For example, we built the a private basketball motion library based on 150+ basketball plays by NBA player Luka Doncic, to be used exclusively by his team.

FAQs

  • Detailed image data of the person to be digitized. Although we can use existing 3D scans and/or image references, we prefer to capture our own data using photogrammetry/3D scanning setups. Depending on fidelity and application, the process can be as simple or complex as desired - for example, we’ve created an avatar with remote iPhone data provided by the artist during lockdown.

We can also use archival data (e.g. old pictures or videos). The better and more detailed the data, the more accurate the avatar.

  • Our avatars are tailored to fit the end-user. This involves building a pipeline that fits how you wish to use your digital asset. However, we use Unreal Engine 5 for real-time rendering, virtual live events, games and more, and suggest you do too. The avatars can also be used for rendering, deepfakes and in traditional VFX pipelines.

  • Sure, we create content, events and games. Alternatively, we can consult existing teams on how to use the asset, or set up a team for you that can run content creation on a day-to-day basis.

  • Everyone should own their own avatar. We don’t retain ownership of the avatar or its raw data.

  • Yes. The avatar is a 3D snapshot in time of the person. The model can be aged or de-aged. The avatar can also be used as synthetic data input for deepfake or other AI models.

  • We can build custom outfits or work with your choice of designer/creative director to bring a specific look to life. The base model can be used with different outfits and looks going forward, and new outfits can be created at any time by any team.

  • We also capture performances or build custom animation libraries using motion capture. Motion libraries capture the unique movement style of an actor or artist for future use by animators, creatives or game devs in a standardized format that works across most 3D content creation tools.

  • No. We build handmade, bespoke avatars for clients using next-generation 3D and industry-standard game technologies.
